A great family business!

Our history dates back to 1930, with Don Antonio Martínez Florez, a native of the department of Colonia, who, upon finishing his degree in Economics in Montevideo, decides to settle in the city of Trinidad, foreseeing the strategic agro-industrial potential which the department of Flores would become in the future.

Shortly after, he founded the ESSO gas station at the corner of Fondar and Av. Brasil (Actually Axion), which is still a fundamental heritage of the company and where the administrative offices of Agromotora Flores S.A. are also located. Almost at the same time, Don Antonio together with other producers and merchants in the city decide to found the Association of Grain merchants, boosting personal ventures to a corporate state level.

Over the years, the company has acquired an ever expanding portfolio and in the face of the need, adapted to the technological changes that happen in the second half of the 20th century. His son and current CEO of AMF Horacio Martínez, started working with his father and became a key part of the company, updating the existing portfolio of the company and creating new business models, such as grain storage, seed processing, cattle breeding, genetics, agriculture, harvesting, logistics, transportation, and more.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the family's new generation joined the company: Eng. Agronomist Nicolás Martínez , Lic. Administration Juan Antonio Martínez and Dr. Maria Cristina Martínez who join the company as they finish their professional studies in Montevideo.

This new generation arrives with the initial experience transmitted by Don Antonio and his son Horacio, maintaining the family business values and essence of the Uruguayan productive sector from its origins, but also adding their professional capacities in the different business areas by continuing to update the company into the 21st century, according to the changes in technology and international trade required. Just as his father Horacio did in the second half of the 20th century, expanding the company into a growth agent of the country's agricultural sector for three uninterrupted generations

With an experience of over 90 years and three generations dedicated to the comprehensive service of the agricultural sector, Agromotora Flores S.A provides support to producers starting with the initial technical advice on investment up to the commercialization of products, going through all the intermediate stages including sowing, monitoring, agro-supplies, insurance, harvesting, logistics, storage, marketing and business analysis.
